In June 1998, we sent a letter and publications on Naju to the Holy See. In the letter, we expressed our concern about some possible doctrinal problems in the Declaration on Naju issued by the Archbishop of Kwangju, Korea, as well as apparent deficiencies in the investigative activities by the committee appointed by the Kwangju Archdiocese. About two months later, we received a letter from Archbishop Marcello Zago, O.M.I., who was the Secretary of the Vatican's Sacred Congregation for the Evangelization of the Peoples.
