Our Letter
to Archbishop Alexander Sample
C O P Y
June 28, 2014
His Excellency
Archbishop Alexander K. Sample, J.C.L., D.D.
Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon
2838 E. Burnside St.
Portland, OR 97214
Your Excellency,
I, Benedict Labre Sang M. Lee, together with my wife:
Gertrude and our son: Christopher, belonging to the Holy Rosary Parish,
express our profound gratitude to Your Excellency for consecrating our
Archdiocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. All the faithful in the
Archdiocese are now entrusted to the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady and, at
the same time, are obligated to be faithful in complying with the Blessed
Mother 's
requests: to be more diligent in praying, especially the Rosary, and do
penance for our sins and others'.
I believe that, through this consecration, we can be more loyal children
of God and the Blessed Mother and also will be under the Blessed Mother's
special protection. A friend of ours in Los Angeles heard about this
consecration and congratulated us and expressed an ardent wish that a same
consecration may be made in her Archdiocese as well.
On this blessed day of the consecration of our
Archdiocese, I would like to present a report to Your Excellency about a
special photograph of the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe taken
on August 15, 1991 in the chapel of the National Shrine of Our Sorrowful
Mother in Portland. I petition Your Excellency for an official evaluation
of the enclosed information and, if it is discerned positively, to accept
this photograph as a gift from God to our Archdiocese, our country, and
beyond.
With our obedience and gratitude to and prayers for Your
Excellency,
Benedict Labre Sang M. Lee
